CATS ON FIRE ANNOUNCE TOUR OF SWEDEN, ALL BLACKSHIRTS TO ME OUT IN GERMANY NEXT WEEK

Cats on Fire have announced a series of shows for this coming July in Sweden, the dates are as follows:

20/7: Debaser Slussen, Stockholm

21/7: Jazzhuset, Göteborg

27/7: Debaser, Malmö

28/7: Special set at the Cosy Den festival on the Saturday of the Cosy Den Festival, Haninge.

These dates follow the previously announced Finnish dates :

12/5: Korjaamo, Helsinki

18/5: Leipätehdas, Vaasa

19/5: HTDJ!, Klubi, Tampere

14./7: Island In The Sun, Jurmo, Åland

In other Cats on Fire news,  All Blackshirts To Me comes out in Germany on the 4th May through Cargo Records. The album has already picked up some serious German notices from Spiegel, Financial Times De & Intro magazine. This follows releases in Scandinavia, UK, USA, Spain, Italy etc.

Demos & Spotify

Demos

We have been inundated with a ridiculous amount of demos here at Soliti. They come from all over the world (though mostly Finland). It’s increasingly becoming impossible to answer all your e-mails and actually discuss your demos. Please keep them coming, but a response from Soliti will only be forthcoming if we are interested.  Otherwise, the demo guidelines as on our about page still apply.

Spotify

We have had quite a few inquiries as to why the Soliti catalog is not available on Spotify. It’s quite simple, Soliti at this stage does not feel that Spotify offers a good enough royalty rate to justify having all our catalog there.  Also, we feel an affinity with local and international record stores and would rather support the record store culture. Buying from a record store also ensures Soliti as a label and in turn our artists get a decent slice of money back from their releases. If an artist feels they need their album on  Spotify , then that album will be available through the service (as is the  case with the Cats on Fire album in Sweden & elsewhere). Plus we have a selection of tracks on Spotify, so dig in.

It’s been the busiest time here at Soliti with various happenings, releases imminent or just arrived.

The next album release on Soliti (007) arrives tomorrow (28th March) with Cats On Fire’s All Blackshirts To Me. The latest addition to the Soliti family Paperfangs had their debut self released EP AAVVAV out through Bandcamp yesterday (26th March). You can check out a track from the EP, I Felt The Ocean. You can catch Paperfangs live on 03.04 2012 @ Everyday Is Like Sunday club, Siltanen, Helsinki.

Astrid Swan had the latest remix from her Hits (Pavement For Girls) album released last Friday (23rd March). Download Serefe Sound System’s remix of Hits album opener Cream Of Gold here. Astrid Swan is currently working on her self penned follow-up which will see the light of day next year.

The New Tigers have a couple of festival appearances approaching. This Friday (30th March 2012) the band play two shows at Tallinn Music Week which takes place in the Estonian capitol. You can also catch The New Tigers at Jyrock this April, one of Finland’s longest running Inide festivals. The bandplay Jyrock on Saturday 21st April.
